Whatatutu School Trip

Whatatutu School Trip

This is the school trip we went on on Tuesday 2nd in school hours. Here is my recount about the trip to whatatutu. We learned about whirikoka and his seal OiOi, and where he lived. We also learned about our waters and that the children are always having the attention from adults because us, children need to learn and grow up with our elders beside us encouraging us on, but if we didn't have any adults and elders beside us we won't be able to mande our lives by ourselves for long at the age we are at. We wanted to learn more about the history about whirikoka and his pet seal. We are going to perform a dance of the story of whirikoka at a theater in front of audience. We got to keep a quarts crystal for ourselves. We went down to check out the ancient PA site down the road from the marae we arrived at in whatatutu. I liked the crystals we got to keep and i also liked the ancient PA site. We learned that OiOis oil is still in the ground on the hills on whatatutu. I am wondering how Whirikoka and OiOi meet or found each other and became best friends and how much of a relationship Whirikoka and OiOi had between each other.

Anzac Stories

This is me and leah's anzac work about anzac stories. We had to read and listen to stories about anzac and war, then write about them in our own words or what it's about. We researched about war and anzac because we wanted to know what's anzac is, and what happend at war. I liked learning what happend at war and how the enemies attacked each other. I liked learning about what happened at war.

This is some of the history behind anzac biscuits.

      Anzac Biscuits
By leah georgia paitin and kendra.
   Ingredients:
  • Image result for anzac biscuits1 cup of Rolled Oats

  • 1 cup of Flour
  • 1 cup of Coconut
  • 1 cup of brown Sugar
  • 1 t of Baking Soda
  • 2 T of Golden Syrup
  • 125g Butter
  • 2 T of boiling water
  • 180c oven makes 20

   Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180c. Lightly grease a baking tray or line with baking paper.

  1. Combined the oats, coconut, flour and sugar together in a large bowl.

  1. Melt the butter and golden syrup together. Dissolve the baking soda in the boiling water and add to the butter mixture. Pour the butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix together.

  1. Roll teaspoons into balls and place on the tray, allowing room for them to spread.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, cooking one tray at a time.

Leah: we added to much dough onto the tray. They felt really oily .They smell really nice. The color was ginger. The dry ingredients were really white and crumbly and the wet ingredient were bubbling and we don't know why. When we added in the wet ingredients i'd started to crumble up. When we started to roll them into balls we felt really greasy and oily. Over all the biscuits were really nice  but they were also chewy. Ridin

Kendra: It felt all greasy from the butter when we felt the dough. The colour was ginger. They smell really nice. The biscuits when they were finished they tasted really good but when I tasted them at first they tasted a bit weird and they were crunchy and sweet.

Paitin: the biscuits looked really nice and they smell really nice as well  the biscuits looked really nice and they smell really nice as well the biscuits tasted  really good and they weird nice and crunchy but soft at the same time

Georgia: The biscuits smelt so nice They were hot because they just came out of the oven. They felt hot, warm, and soft. They were steaming. They first looked light brown, then after they looked darkish brown. When we were putting them onto trays they were really oily. We also put too much dough on the tray, so they expanded and connected together to make one big row of a long anzac biscuit. Over all they i personally think that they were really nice and they were crunchy and really sweet.
